BBL Daily Roundup — 26 October 2026: Mustafizur Rahman Reported for Melbourne Renegades

Bangladesh left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman is reported to be joining Melbourne Renegades for BBL|16, in what would be his first stint in Australia's premier T20 league. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Tamim Iqbal said at the D3 Trophy auction on 26 October 2026 that Mustafizur will feature for the Renegades, and the bowler has applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCB. Read the status flags carefully: this is a report based on the BCB president's statement, not a club announcement from Melbourne Renegades, and the NOC is applied for, not confirmed as issued — BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees was quoted on 26 October saying the board is positive about granting the NOCs for Mustafizur and Rishad Hossain, but until the club or the BCB confirms the signing and the NOC, this move is REPORTED, not done, and Mustafizur is NOT added to the Renegades squad list on this site. If confirmed, he would become only the third Bangladeshi player in BBL history, after Shakib Al Hasan and Rishad Hossain, who returns for Hobart Hurricanes for a second straight season. The complication to watch: Mustafizur was also picked up in the D3 Trophy domestic auction on the same day, and that tournament runs from 12 December to 25 January, overlapping the BBL season — if the NOC is approved he would be expected to miss the D3 Trophy, and if it is not, the BBL move falls away. For context, the Renegades have already confirmed England wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow and New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell for BBL|16, both already recorded on this site and not re-posted here.
