How the BBL finals system works

After ten league games each, the top four qualify. The Qualifier (1st vs 2nd, 19 January) sends its winner straight to the Final; the loser gets a second chance. The Knockout (3rd vs 4th, 20 January) is sudden death. The Challenger (23 January) pits the Qualifier loser against the Knockout winner for the second Final spot, and the Final lands on Australia Day, 26 January 2027.

Net run rate decides tied positions, which is why late-season chases get frantic even in dead rubbers. Follow the race match by match on the BBL|16 schedule and check your team's squad depth on its team page.
